“Go into yourself and see how deep the place is from which your life flows.”   - RANIER MARIA RILKE  (POET, 1875-1926)

“Pure presence is the most essential thing to really be in, and if you live in this presence you really can reach this transformative quality of transcendence, elevate your own spirit and the spirit of the audience.”   - MARINA ABRAMOVIC  (ARTIST, 1946-Present)

I believe in the power of murals to create special moments inside our everyday environments, to spark moments of awe that capture something outside the commonplace routines we all inhabit, and tap into an inner wellspring of inspiration to carry throughout the day. The overall concept for the mural here is the nature of that kind of source, the mysterious energy within that calls forth creation and the aura of collaboration in the act of making; both the collaboration with other like-minded individuals as well as the collaboration of artist and audience.

To illustrate the theme I’ve chosen to have a visual conversation with a work of art from the past entitled Point of Contact by Marina Abramovic. Here I’ve decided to use her performance piece as a touchstone to expand on the enigmatic ideas about pure presence; about the formation of new and beautiful objects/moments through a combined presence, through a joint effort.
